Treatment Philosophy

Parisa’s therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that individuals have the innate ability to overcome life’s challenges. She utilizes evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Motivational Interviewing to support clients in navigating their mental health issues. In her work, she also incorporates Brainspotting, IFS, and the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) to address trauma and emotional regulation. Parisa is dedicated to fostering resilience, emotional healing, and personal growth in a compassionate, non-judgmental space, allowing clients to feel supported as they work through their difficulties.

Education

Parisa holds a Master of Arts in Psychology, with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy, from Phillips Graduate Institute.

Professional Experience

Parisa began her clinical training at Sunrise Assisted Living, where she provided individual and group therapy for adults with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, depression, and anxiety. She later worked as a school counselor in LAUSD elementary schools, offering therapy to children dealing with issues such as self-esteem, behavioral challenges, and family dynamics. Her clinical work expanded at Behavioral Learning Center and Phillips Counseling Center, where she treated adults and adolescents with depression, anxiety, grief, and co-dependent features. At Children Are Our Future, Parisa served as a case manager and therapist, providing psychotherapy to adolescents with trauma and dual diagnoses. In 2015, she became an outpatient therapist at The Help Group, working with both children and adults facing a variety of mental health challenges. By 2017, Parisa became a clinical supervisor at Hathaway Sycamore, where she provided supervision to therapists gaining hours toward licensure.

Certifications and Training
Parisa has completed specialized training in several therapeutic approaches, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brainspotting, Internal Family System ( IFS) and the Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM). She is a certified Prepare & Enrich Facilitator, helping couples build stronger relationships, and holds a 40-hour Domestic Violence Certification for working with survivors of domestic violence. Additionally, Parisa is a certified Grief Specialist, having completed 21 hours of training in grief counseling for both children and adults.

Personal Life

In her personal life, Parisa enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring nature, and pursuing new hobbies such as music and art. She is passionate about maintaining a balance between work and personal life, ensuring that self-care and personal growth are always prioritized.
