Treatment Philosophy

Julieta utilizes a strength-based integrative approach in her work with couples, families, teens, women, and adolescents. She draws on principles from humanistic, person centered, positive psychology and cognitive behavior models to collaborate with clients to set goals for positive change. Julieta is skilled at addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, anger, grief, stress, coping skills, cultural values conflict, family conflict, immigration, and assimilation, marital and premarital, women’s issues, peer relationships, racial identity, LGBTQ identity. Julieta views the therapeutic process as a tool to help individuals explore new skills, change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors, regulate emotions, and develop healthy coping skills that will ultimately strengthen their relationship to self, as well as increasing communication and cohesiveness in the family.

Education

M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Holy Names University (2020)
B.A. in Psychology from Cal State Fullerton (2003)

Professional and Volunteer Experience

Julieta’s clinical training has included working with diverse client populations which included working at various school sites and Redwood House Crisis Center.

Previously, Julieta worked as a full-time Paraprofessional for Los Angeles, Irvine, and San Francisco School Districts in grades k-6. Julieta is bilingual English/Spanish and can provide therapeutic services in both languages.

Personal Life

Julieta lives with her partner of 3 years. She has one daughter, one son, and a rescue dog. Julieta enjoys reading, going to the gym, hiking, attending, watching movies, being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.
